CURRENT NEEDS

UPDATED SITE PLANS AND NEED FOR NEW CABINS

Merriwood is in the process of updating site plans and looking at a long-term plan for the future. Some of the needs we have in the future are new cabin buildings. The existing structures are over 50 years old and showing their age. With the additional acreage MCC acquired in 2014, we have some more room to work with now for new building locations. We plan to eventually have a capital campaign to help raise funds for this project. We have already begun a line-item where funds can be donated to future cabin buildings. BULKHEAD, FISHING PIER, & WATER ACTIVITIES ON LAKE

Our lakefront is more heavily used than every before. MCC offers canoes, paddle boats, a blob, water Splash Track, and fishing. The edges of the lake were eroding due to weather, use, and general time lapsed. We added bulkhead to the most heavily used side of the lake as well as built a fishing pier toward near the island, and that is now used as a fishing dock for our summer campers. These projects was completed by Spring 2016. In the future, we hope to add a slide or zip line of sorts to the lake-front activities. PRESSURE WASHING

MCC always has areas that need pressure washing. Our playground is one such area, as well as the outside of our motels. If you have abilities in this area, particularly in spring, before summer season begins, please contact MCC!

ENTRY WAY

MCC would love to upgrade the entryway by removing the old “drive under” sign, building a new stone or brick encased sign, and redoing the landscaping. If you or a company you know may have abilities you could donate in this area or potential to donate goods for this project, we’d love to hear from you!

VARIOUS PROJECTS

There is always a project going on at MCC that volunteers could help with. If you or your group have abilities in raking, painting, splitting and stacking wood, picking up sticks, etc, we’d love for you to join us and come be involved!
